WEEKLY CHECKPOINT - Week of: January 26 - 30, 2009

    WEEKLY OBJECTIVES:

    - To review basic ACCESS 2007 concepts covered in Lessons 1-4, with special focus on finding data in a database (queries, filters, Go to command, Find command, etc.).

    GENERAL INFORMATION:

    Bell Ringer:: If the Bell Ringer is not written on the whiteboard, login to your FirstClass account.   Open the Bell Ringer for the current day from the Period folder/Bell Ringer folder. Complete the Bell Ringer and save it to the Period/Bell Ringer folder and your File Storage/Bell Ringer folder5 minutes max. time after the bell.

    MONDAY - FRIDAY

    See Bell Ringers posted on whiteboard.

    Lesson/Activity:

    CATCH-UP WEEK FOR STUDENTS.  Students should complete Assignments #1 - #4 by Friday, January 30, 2009.

    All work must be kept in your binder, your jump drive, and your online file storage.  No excuses will be accepted for lost work.  BACK-UP all work! Bring your binder to class everyday.  Do not store your binder in the classroom.

    WEEK 18: January 12 - 16, 2009

    • Assignments 28-32 were due December 19, 2008.

    • Assignments 33-36 were due on Thursday, January 8, 2009 for full credit.

    • Late credit - Friday, January 9, 2009.

    • 1/2 credit will be given on Monday, January 12, 2008.

    Bell Ringer:: Record the correct answers for the Studyguide - Assignment #34 from the whiteboard.  Quiz your tech-buddy on the True-False questions in Studyguide Assignment #34.

    Lesson/Activity:

    Quiz your tech-buddy on the True-False questions in Studyguide Assignment #34.  Record the correct answers for the remainder of the studyguide,  by listening to class review/discussion.

    Your End-of-Semester Assessments are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, 1/15 and 1/16.

    Homework: Study for your assessments.  Review all Cornell Notes and your study guides.

    TUESDAY - 1/13/09

    BELLRINGER: Review Completion section for Semester 1 assessment (studyguide - Assignment #35).  Record the correct answers, so you can study for the tests scheduled for tomorrow and Thursday 1/14-1/15.

    LESSON/ACTIVITY:

    FIRSTCLASS ASSIGNMENT

    Open your FirstClass account.  Then locate all work completed for Semester 1 (in your file storage or on your jump drive.  Rename assignments appropriately.  Make sure each assignment has a number and name.   You are going to make sure that all assignments from Semester 1 are uploaded.  You will create a folder named:  Semester 1 Work in File Storage and your HOOP (name) folder.

    Save ALL assignments from Semester 1 (Assignments 1-36) in your FILE STORAGE AND HOOP folder in FIRSTCLASS.

    Steps:

    Create a folder called “Semester 1 Work in both your FILE STORAGE and in your H.O.O.P. (name) folder in FirstClass.

    Upload all assignments (1-36) from your jump drive to each Semester 1 Work folder. Make sure each assignment has an assignment number and name.

    ____#31 - ACCESS Computer Exercise - Tables/Forms - Print only 1 record for each form created.

    ____#36 - Choices Planner Activity #2 (from 12/19/08). Research two colleges that you are interested in attending. Write eight questions and answers for at least one of the colleges.

    WEDNESDAY - 1/7/09

    Bell Ringer:: Go to the class website: Online Portal section and click on the “What’s Due - CSA2″ tab. Create a Self-Evaluation Form for Quarter 2:

    Copy the Assignments list
    Paste the list in a Word 2007 document
    Place a line before each Assignment number
    Print the Self-Evaluation Form (you will need it for your homework assignment).

    Lesson/Activity:

    See the board for directions

    Homework:
    Place a check or X on the line, for each assignment that you have printed and/or placed in your
    H.O.O.P. folder/Period folder. All assignments must be printed, unless otherwise stated.

    You did not have to print Assignments 34 and 35. You should print only page 1 of the
    Computer Exercise. All Cornell Notes must be printed. Don’t forget the summaries on the Cornell Notes form.

    TEST tomorrow and/or Friday 1/8-1/9. Study the study guides for Lesson 4 (Assignments 34 and 35)!!!
